cubex kitchen

In this beautiful ‘interbellum’ home I loved to work on this iconic Cubex inspired kitchen.
This space, as an extension of the living room, includes an oak library that gives a warm and homey touch.
The kitchen can be completely opened to welcome friends around the table and easily be closed afterwards to hide all the clutter.

Back to 1930 when Belgian architect Louis-Herman De Koninck invented the first modern kitchen.
The functional 60 cm modules were the most advanced solution of its time in kitchen layouts. And until now they still use this size as a standard worldwide.

During the design process, we found the plans of the original kitchen layout
Over the years we have lost the functionality of the scullery due to the popularity of open floor plans.
For this family of 6, extra prep and store spaces were needed.

This kitchen is made for a 'buffet' style of presenting the food. Cooking pots can be placed directly on the Dekton worktop. The dinner plates are within reach.
A good flow saves you time, energy and frustration.
The research to find the perfect fit for every family is my favorite part of the job.

The build-in library gives this kitchen a homey feeling.
